Las Tunas.- The Vicente García González Provincial Museum received before the end of 2021 the declaration as a Local Monument, which responds to the integral values ​​that for 100 years have kept it at the center of the historical, cultural, social and political events of the territory .

His image, which on many occasions has identified communication campaigns in the province, served more recently to govern the publicity for the 225th anniversary of the city of Las Tunas.

The now local monument demanded the constitution of a file for its analysis at the national level, containing its future, expression of the constructive heritage that characterizes the eclectic architecture of the city, the funds that it treasures -with only a small percentage on display-, which they make up fixed and transitory collections.

To which is added the actions of its managers and workers in everyday life, facing the public and in annual events for the promotion, rescue and conservation of intangible heritage.

In recent times, the Provincial Museum displays a constant activity on social networks that allows the knowledge of its funds, specific objects, rooms and collections, always with the purpose of knowing the territorial history and a little more.
