Las Tunas.- The pitcher from Las Tunas, Carlos Juan Viera will be the only player from Las Tunas who will attend the V World Baseball Classic.
The 34-year-old pitcher will be in the main baseball event in the world for the first time, after having attended the Premier 12 in 2019 and the Pre-Olympic in 2021.
Rafael Viñales and Yosvani Alarcón, from Las Tunas, were left out of the 30-player roster after their great Elite League performances.
The Cuban team was made up of two catchers, eight infielders, six outfielders and 14 pitchers, under the direction of Armando Johnson.
Of the 30 players, 10 play in professional leagues in the Caribbean or Major League Baseball (MLB).
